Starting over today and trying to add science to this. I've been on keto for 2 weeks in the first week I lost 7 pound, now I've put on 2 pound, so not sure if I should weight myself. Using this process so I can see where the hidden carbs are for me. I didnt realise I shouldnt be having the protein shake for breakfast. I'll just eat bacon and eggs or something.

I have always drank protein shakes for breakfast and lost. Made with unsweetened almond milk and low carb powder (under 2 net carbs).

Hi there, do you have any suggestions on a good protein shake then, the one I have is obviously too high in carbs. I love unsweetened almond milk. Thanks for your feedback, its good to get to know some people here.

Bacon and eggs is a great start for a day of keto, Leslycat.

Hi, Lesly! Welcome aboard. This is a great site for support and inspiration, with some very smart folks! I took a peek at your food diary, and one thing leapt out...be careful of overdoing the protein. If you consume more than you need, it will be converted to glucose in the liver. That might explain the gain after the initial water whoosh the first week. Keto is naturally diuretic, so the initial losses are pretty spectacular, as your body converts to burning fat vs. glucose. You will need to adjust your macros as you lose. If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
