That's what it sounds like when I walk now... because I'm on crutches.

Friday night I sprained my ankle. This will be the 4th time on the same ankle now. I'm becoming a crutch pro. I tore it in judo class, but not in a way that makes any sense. I wasn't thrown or landed wrong. I just stepped to the side and SNAP there goes my ankle rolling sideways again. My ankle sucks. If I was smarter I would have been wearing an ankle brace to prevent that sort of thing.

Oh well. Walking is overrated.

Being injured hasn't been too helpful with my diet. I can't really move right now, so I'm not exercising. And of course everyone thought it would be an awesome idea to bring me mega-high-calorie food to make me feel better. I shouldn't have caved, but who can resist a baked potato the size of a toddler?

I'm sure I've gained, but I don't care to step on the scale right now. Hopefully I'll heal quickly and be able to get back on track. Until then, I'll just cheer you on from the sidelines.

OW!!! I'm sorry. Be more careful! I hope you have a quick recovery.

For whatever reason, every time I do this the recovery is faster. The first time I sprained my ankle I was on crutches for 3 months. I'm already starting to walk a little now, but I still need crutches for longer distances.

Ewwww is right! Is there something you can do, brace or exercise-wise, to strengthen your ankle and try to keep it from happening again? That's got to put a real hitch in your getalong!

I think a brace would go a long way. My ankles are pretty weak too. I wore braces in marching band to keep from spraining them. I think you should get some braces or some elastic wrap stuff and learn to wrap them properly yourself.

Sorry to hear that, but I hope you enjoyed your tater-toddler. Get well soon, and definitely wear that brace in the future!

I have a few braces/wraps, but I wasn't wearing one. I haven't worn a brace in years because the last time I did this was probably four years ago. I've been told that after you tear the tendon/ligament in your ankle, that it gets easier to tear it repeatedly. I should have been wearing a brace, but I didn't think it would be a problem since I haven't had any ankle problems for so long.

Ok just reading that made my ankle hurt.... I have a bad ankle, my right to be exact, that is very prone to a sprain. I can just step on the flat ground and out of nowhere I am on my side and my ankle is swollen and sore... I hope you feel better soon man.

I know all about sprains, I finally had to have surgery when I was 17 to help fix my crazy bad ankles. Be careful, and don't rush recovery. Especially if you want to keep on running. Rotate between heat and ice every twenty minutes and keep it elevated. That's the best advice I know!

Wow it must be the season for sprains. My neighor broke his ankle trying to catch a bus and of course I had to ask did the bus stop. He said no lol but sorry about your ankle. And I was going to suggest maybe getting surgery but I guess if you remember to wrap your ankle you should be ok.

I'm sorry to hear about the injury. I've been there, its no fun. I've been sick for the last week myself so I know the pain of not exercising.
