Cauliflower Bomb
Since so many people are asking for the recipe, I translated the German recipe. It was not really easy since the amounts were kind of vague, nothing I am used to. So I had to look up how e.g. bacon is usually sold in Germany :-)
Well, try to make it, I have to find out if it is really good as well. Maybe I should put this in a forum (Grand Central?) and if you want to you can add suggestions on how to change it to make it better. What do you think?
So, here we go:
1 large cauliflower 1 lbs. ground meat; half pork/ half beef 1 medium onion 3 oz. shredded cheese 5 oz. sour cream (or double cream/crème fraîche if you can get it) 8 oz. bacon Salt and pepper
Cook the whole cauliflower in (salt)water for 10 min. Remove from pot and let it drip off.
In a bowl mix finely chopped onions with the ground meat, the shredded cheese, the sour cream and some salt and pepper.
Spread the mixture around the cauliflower and then wrap it with bacon. (It might help to spread the florets a little bit apart to make it stick better, not sure yet.)
Bake at 180°C/355F for 35 - 40 min.
