A word of caution from someone who did not have the best luck with gastric bypass. Eat slowly, chew your food, and avoid gassy foods like the plague. Google dumping syndrome. It hurts REALLY bad, it lasts for hours, sometimes days, and I usually end up begging people to shoot me. I'm not joking. Be very careful.

My niece did very well after getting her procedure last year. Follow the directions and you should be OK. Congrats on your new life.

Yes, my cousin did excellent after her surgery. She dropped a ton of weight. HCB is right, do what they tell you to do.

My nephew had the procedure and loss a lot of weight afterwards. He hasn't mentioned any side effects. I did notice is that he had a substantial weight loss preparing for the surgery. I wondered why he didn't stick with that since it was working so well and skip the procedure. I hope all works out well for you...

Strakaw! I too have decided after much research and speaking with people who have had it done (successfully) to get sleeved. Just waiting on my surgery date. I am excited about it. Knowing this is only a tool to help, I am working to really change how I eat now... in a sleeve you wont have any dumping but still need to be very careful about what you eat. here's to success. Maybe we can friend each other and help each other through the process.
