I think I might of over done it today. I'm well....having my monthly and decided that if I didn't get some kind of chocolate in me that I was going to explode! So I ate an atkins advantage bar. I was told not to do that, that they were going to slow my weight loss down. But I had to have something. So I figured it was the better of the two choices I was thinking of ( a double hot fudge sundae with chocolate brownies and whipped cream with a 5 lbs. bucket of hot fudge and carmel on the side :p ). So i'm really hoping that it didn't screw my diet up and everything will be fine. I'm crossing my fingers I guess only time will tell.

Foxgirl, MOST people don't have ANY issues with the Atkins bars. There is a VERY small subset of people that do metabolize sugar-alcohols (according to my reading), but it is unlikely that you are one of those people. The Atkins bars are a great tool from time to time. I personally would avoid them very often, because I find that after eating them for a few days I started craving them. One thing that I will say is that you aren't getting enough veggies. You need to be getting between 12 and 15 NET carbs from veggies every day. This is important from both a general health perspective and a fiber perspective. Atkins tends to cause constipation, so the veggie NET carbs are important.

Well I read the suitable foods page on the atkins website and didn't see any veggies that I really like for the induction phase. Except for cucumbers and lettuce. And I wasn't sure if bell peppers were acceptable yet. but yes I do agree I need more veggies. So i'm gonna print out the page and take it to the store and see if theres anyway I can sneek some of the ones I don't like in with a meal or two : )

Bell peppers were fine. People who don't like veggies generally start finding out that they like them if cooked correctly. Here is a good link for recipes. The stars indicate good for Induction. If you like potatoes, start with "just like stuffed baked potatoes". I love it, and anyone (non-atkins) I've served it to has gone back for seconds. http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/
