PoulC's Journal, 04 December 2016

I had a nice hour and 14 minute trail ride on my mountain bike. Not many mountains in my part of Florida. This site logged 902 calories burned. I truly doubt it. It is the same amount for moderate speed cycling (13 mph). I used track my ride app on my phone and that said I logged 9.3 miles with an average speed of 7.5 mph and 524 calories. Does anyone have a feel for the calories burned on FS (more or less than actual)? Either way, I got my heart rate up, sweated a little and burned some of the extra carbs I ate this weekend. The best part is my left knee wasn't sore, although I did take it easy on the old knee. Last thing I want is to be sidelined due to injury after finally getting back into the physical activity business. Have some fun today, kids.

Nice ride! Bravo. I do find this site averages the calories burned too high, therefore, I don't use this site for my activity or food logging. That 524 sounds more reasonable....I think 550-600 sounds about right. You are doing great buddy!

Good for you! Glad the knee is better. I usually use my FitBit to see my active calorie burn so as long as I eat in a deficit, I see movement.

Way to get out and ride, bringing your heart rate up and sweating helps in many different ways. Great job!!
