I'm having a bad day with this. Yesterday I was down 5 lbs now i'm up 3. Maybe it's 'cause i'm supposed to start here soon but i'm really getting frustrated. Like is all this really worth it. Am I really gonna lose weight? This is my sencond time doing this diet (the first time I ended up getting pregnant at the begging of my diet and had to stop, Dr.'s orders.) and I did really well last time. But i'm not doing so well this time. I think i'm doing it to the "T" and not getting the results I did last time. But I will keep to it for a while and see where it takes me. anybody have any encouraging ideas on how to speed up the process, or might know what might be wrong?

OK..Believe I know why you are gaining weight. Too much sodium. According to the Atkins Dietician Colette, we CAN have more sodium than normal because of Atkins being a diuretic, but the level she suggested was 3-4000 mgs. Yesterday you were over 5K. I also see that most of your meat is pre-processed. That is going to up your sodium and probably give you a lot of nitrates that should be avoided. Another thing that I noticed which can be even bigger is that you are getting virtually no fiber. A woman needs to be aiming toward 25 grams of fiber. Fiber prevents constipation. As a result, it also helps with weight loss.

thanks for the info on the sodium, I haven't even been checking that. When I looked at my menu today I was way over that level. I guess the lupini beans for an afternoon snack are out of the question. Oh well, back to the drawing board on an interesting snack for my afternoons at work.
