Well- today is the first day of the attempted vegetarian diet. I do have fish planned- not because I'm afraid to stray from meat- but I don't have the essential supplements for a vegetarian diet and no money to buy them right now so- I need to get the protein somehow. I think milk stalls my weightloss so I don't want to go that route. I used to be allergic when I was a young child, so I'm sure I still have a sensitivity. I usually try to drink the almond milk, but, it's December- a month to struggle more than usual so...no go on that. It's all good, there is food in the house, a roof over our heads, heat, lights, and beds and blankets so I'm blessed in that respect. Happy December!

Diet Calendar Entry for 19 December 2011:
1321 kcal Fat: 55.20g | Prot: 117.11g | Carb: 93.70g.   Breakfast: banana, eggs hard boiled. Lunch: onion, light ranch dressing , tuna in water, lettuce. Dinner: cabbage, swai, zucchini. Snacks/Other: tuna in water, crystal light drink mix, water, bush's light red kidney beans, peter pan peanut butter, mayonnaise dukes, eggs hard boiled, fish oil, grapes purple, light ranch dressing, broccoli. more...

Protein is in fish, most vegetables, tofu and soy products, cheese (if you're eating dairy) or vegan cheeses, nuts, lentils, quinoa, yams etc. You should get protein from food without a problem. Unless you're buying vegan mayonaise, it contains dairy. FYI. Enjoy! Let me know if you feel any differently.

If you want to go vegetarian or vegan, it might be a good idea to get some books from the library and research online to make sure you know how to get your protein and all the nutrition you need. You can make shakes with whey protein powder and fruit. There are beans, soy products, tofu, etc. If you can't have milk products, then it becomes especially important to get your protein elsewhere. The more varied your protein the better. Good luck!

Thanks guys! My laptop is down and researching is difficult with my 2 year old on the desktop. :-0 I will eventually be researching away.

I feel huge and overstuffed, but I ate a clean diet today. Most everything I believe was unprocessed. So crazy how much food you have to eat to up calories when you don't have the protein supplements and crappy filler foods, etc. Money permitting- I will buy those items in about 2 weeks!
