Shrinking Sonya's Journal, 12 December 2009

Working on re-focusing. The lovely ladies at work thought it would be fun where we have the "12 days of Christmas"- where one of us brings in goodies each day til Christmas. HORRIBLE IDEA- I protested til the end. It didn't work. It's the w-o-r-s-t thing ever trying to be good when people are bringing in all these new things I've never tried before, etc. My self-control went right out the window with Thanksgiving, and then I decided to get back on track, just to get into this mess! I'm really stressed about this....

I'm going to try to go this weekend to the store and stock up on healthy food again (especially snacks I can take to work to try to avoid the 'bad' stuff). Today I'm helping the kids throw a little Christmas party. We're going to the Christmas Parade and then their friends are coming over for snacks and hot cocoa and to play DDR.

Biggest Loser amazed me. Rebecca rocked my face off. I want what she got so badly. Everyone else was criticizing her hair color/cut, etc but I KNEW why she did that- to reinvent herself. For someone who had gone from almost 300 lbs to someone at 140, you'd want to change your look and remind yourself you're not that old person anymore. At the end of the finale I made a decision to make a new goal. We want to take the kids to Disney World this summer because they've never been. We haven't booked it yet, but it will definitely be sometime between june and august. SO... here's my goal: I want to lose another 70 lbs by June 1. THis would give me a total weight loss of a little over 120 lbs. I wouldn't be finished with my weight loss journey, but I would look and feel SO much better about going to FL and going to the beach and wearing shorts, etc. I want this SO BADLY! You guys please help me get back on track and stay there so I can make this happen!!!!

All you can do is take a deep breath and take it one day at a time. Bring in your own little "goodie" that you can control. It is hard to stay away from things we don't normally eat. If you have to have something, maybe try to eat half and throw the rest away. Get in some extra exercise when you can.

It seems like we all need some help to stay on track. Keep ya head up and keep going, you can do anything you want with discipline and determination.

Sonya, I'm sorry to hear. :\ I know that's hard. I've been having the same problem at work. For me, I try to avoid walking past the area where they are, kinda like out of sight, out of mind. Get back on and remember to take it one day at a time. Sounds like you've got some good goals set for yourself. Keep the goal in the front of your mind at all times. I think December is the hardest month for food, which is why I think people are always making New Year's Resolutions of losing weight. Don't fall into the temptation. Good luck, girl.
