LadyinDenim's Journal, 08 June 2016

I'm being honest with myself and recording my food as accurately as I can within my conscience. That being said, I didn't finish 6 oz of my juice yesterday and am drinking it now without altering either food log.

I weigh every morning on my old analog scale, which is accurate enough. I am holding steady at 259. There were a couple days where it fluctuated up 261, 260. Right now, it is steady on 259 for the past 4 days. I decided not to log the fluctuations upward as long as I was following my food plan 100%.

These results are slower than the results I've experienced in the past doing a reboot, which gave me a loss averaging one pound per day. The issue with that was I had terrible cravings by day 22, and it wasn't sustainable. I imagine I will do a reboot again in the future, but not until I'm willing to leave wheat out of my life.

Just thinking of never eating rice and beans again - I can't take it. Never eating sucrose? Got it. Never eating potatoes? No problem.

I have years of experience being me, and this is the best I can do right now.

I feel you! I love rice and bread, even more than chocolate! Too bad it doesn't love me back. For me it's kinda like being in an abusive relationship. You're right...you know you, and one's best is all they can give.

Good luck with your plan....remember, nothing is ever off limits forever...just a question of when and how much.

A pound a day seems a bit much. Attainable goal is the way to go. Best wishes.

Agree with Mahjohn.......when and how much are the key words.

I am an addict. If I eat sugar again, I can go off the rails and there is no telling when I can get on track. Food is my last drug of choice, and sugar is the substance I have identified which must be eliminated, just as I have eliminated other mood altering substances.

My end game in a perfect world is The Wahls Diet. To approach that, I need to focus on increasing veg.

You can do this, Lady. Like MJ said, you have to have a plan where you can also "do life" and just make wise choices. I am doing LCHF (for a month now) and it is CRAZY how my taste buds and cravings have changed. I have been super hard core in my choices this last month, but now... I don't even crave the starchy carbs or sweets that I used to. And I was one who ABSOLUTELY HAD TO have something sweet after every meal. You could place peanut pizza or M-n-Ms in front of me (my faves) and I could pass them up with a "Meh, ya whatever" feeling. I have no idea of the science behind it, but guess that my body is just totally satisfied with all the yummy good fats I am eating. All this to say..... the cravings CAN go away. I promise! Doing you best? That is the perfect thing to do. :)

I know you are right. If I stop eating my carbs of choice, I will stop craving them. I need to feel I can live with the changes permanently. So far, I can. Often at the end of the day I have 100 - 200 calories left to "spend." I am planning to make some lemon fat bombs to keep in the freezer, and that will improve my macros a bit.
