Weight keeps going up and down a little but overall no loss?

Did have app last week to get thyroid checked out but it was cancelled cos Doctor off ill.

Re-scheduled for the 21st April so fingers crossed I get to see someone.

Since the gallbladder came out its like someone has done a body swap on me. Even tried digestive enzymes, natural herbs to get things moving but still no go.

Run past mirrors, look 8 months pregnant and its all wobbly fat and hate it.

Just got to wait and see what the Doctor says.

Good luck to anyone else out there and value any idea's I can look into.
153.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 20.0 lb.    Diet followed N/A.

What a pain about your Doctor's appointment but seeing all those sick people, I guess they can't always avoid it themselves 😔 The best advice I can give since we're all different, is check out the food diaries of people who are doing well and see if you can spot patterns (in both what they eat and what they do). Then, try to fit those patterns into what you do. Don't let anyone tell you their way of weight loss is the only way, though since we are all different. A few things to remember. if your calories burned are more than your calories consumed (and don't go below about 1200 for that or you'll be starving yourself) you will lose weigh although not necessarily at the rate you would like. The extra weight you're carrying didn't arrive overnight and it won't go overnight. If you eat calorie-dense foods, you can get more calories into your stomach before you recognise you're full than if you eat less calorie-dense foods. So, for example, 100g ice cream can quickly escalate into 500g ice cream but 100g spinach never does. That's not to say avoid ice cream, just be aware. Some people swear by lo-carb, hi-fat. Others lose weight on hi-carb, lo-fat. Don't be afraid to research for yourself (including people's journals here) and experiment. Finally (yes, I know, I witter) make sure that whatever you do, if you have health issues and take medication, that your Doctor or Practice Nurse is aware of what you're doing. Best of luck and don't be afraid of collecting buddies - I'd be lost without the ones I have as we really do support each other even when we disagree or have different goals. P x

Thankyou Phooka, never thought aboutlooking at other peoples journals. Not made time so far to get around site very much, full time carer for husband and time seems to just fly.Still doing the gym twice a week which is the only time I can get away.Been doing some reading up on getting more fibre in the diet with sensible eating and it can be done but never looked at that before.Have IBS C so any help in the bathroom without discomfort would be great. Will see how it goes for next week.Carol X
