Two Things
I tried, as suggested, to increase the fat intake to 70% yesterday with the result that it ate up my calories and I was very hungry in the evening. So, I guess that is not really working for me. Back to my 60s!

Also, I had a real Bulletproof this morning, yesterday was only half since I could not remember the exact recipe. It curbs your engine, I am sure of that. I was hungry like a wolf by 8 am but my breakfast time normally is 9.30 am. And since I had such an early breakfast I can hardly wait for lunch to be here. Not snacking in between... no way. So, nothing for me either :-(

Check your water intake, make sure you keep that up starting early in the morning. Hunger pangs come and go in waves, each wave a bit stronger than the last.

It might take more than 1 day to adjust to new %'s. That being said, every once in awhile I will see someone on here who responds completely OPPOSITE of how it's SUPPOSED to work. Just drives home the point that every BODY is different and can react differently. It's why "tweaking" and trying different things is so important! Good Luck finding YOUR sweet spot!

My water intake is fine and I did not have that problem before. Well, it is not a problem, I just will stop drinking Bulletproof :-)

Rckc - That was the conclusion I came to as well, everyone "ticks" a little different. I am not complaining, I am only sharing my experience :-))))

It sure would be easier if there was one answer to all life's problems...sigh.....

That hunger monster can be annoying. I've gone through times when I've had to repeatedly tell him no, we are NOT going to starve to death. He just doesn't listen for a while.

kpw - that hunger monster interferes with my work at times so it needs to be calmed somehow. I have my snacks and they fit perfectly into my plan, well, not so much when I increase fat intake.

Gotcha. Snacks sound like a good plan. Sometimes I use work to distract me from hunger, but different types of jobs don't allow for that.

Oh yes, it definitely depends on the type of work I am doing. Sitting in front of the computer, trying to concentrate on a topic, that monster can get pretty loud *lol. Mowing the lawn - hey, that lawn mower is sooo loud I can't hear the monster at all :-)))) (right now it would be more shoveling snow!)

I have no idea what a bulletproof is but if you're oh high fat low carbs the calories thing doesn't matter... protein will fill you up faster and longer. I was on atkins and never felt hungry and lost almost 30 lbs in a few months. Almost a year later I fell off the wagon because unless the rest of the atkin=ers I couldn't eat fake sugars so I had to go cold turkey and it was THIS fact that broke me. I needed sugar. BADLY. No my friends, sugar cravings DO NOT go away for some people. For most, it does, because they have the fake sugars to fall back on. For the sad bunch of us (or healthier but more miserable?) who can't do fake sugars it's murder. Now I'm going back on an atkinese type diet. But I'm leaving the sugars. Only this time, in the form of fruit and I'm trimming it down slowly to something not so carby. I WILL win the war on sugar! That being said, I think if you ate something more protein-y you wouldn't be so hungry. One thing I liked about atkins is you can still snack if you need it. Protein or low carbed veggies like tomatos and zucchinis (there's a whole list) will fill you up and keep you going. If you can do the fake sugar thing, hallelujah too you! You'll win the war! :D

@Cnith, I believe you mean Fat is more filling and not Protein. Fat has 9 calories per gram, Protein 4, Carbs 4. Additionally, a greater percentage of fat eaten is converted to useable energy by the body(98%), versus only 65-70% for Protein.

No mahjohn, I meant protein, as in of the meat type. I am not a fat eater, so even on atkins I still trimmed off the fat and I didn't eat full fat stuff except for sour cream on the occasion. I don't like the way fat tastes. That being said, it was the protein that kept me full. I saw your numbers and while they're interesting, it's not "real life" for me. Calories don't mean anything when you're hungry. You can stuff yourself with high calorie food (fast food for example) and be hungry an hour later. So when I said it fills you up more, I meant, it keeps you from starving for longer. Make sense?

When we talk about high fat, It's dark meat chicken as opposed to white meat, Salmon, sardines, avocado, bacon, butter, walnuts, macadamia, etc... The fat on the edge of a steak....i just gag on that stuff so not happening. So as you increase your fat % The amount of energy you get from those good fats is greater than the amount from protein. One of the most common issues with pure Atkins dieters is that they see a stall or a big slow down in weight loss, and the answer is typically to reduce protein and increase fat to get it going in the right direction again.

I think we concluded somewhere in the middle of this that everyone ticks a little different. There is no stict standard, there are only guideline./// Yes, I am doing LCHF, it is pretty much like Atkins, and I am losing weight. Lost a heap of weight a few years ago - then I fell off.... Now I am back./// I tried to increase my fat intake since I am so tired and lack motivation a lot of time. Not motivation to stick with this WOE but to move, to do things.//// As for not counting calories, I allow myself to go over it now and then but the past has proven if I don't watch this as well it fails.

Seems as if what you are doing has been working. Good job on getting back on track.

Yes,it worked. And for the tiredness, maybe I need to approach it on a completely different level that has nothing or not much to do with what I eat. Also maybe it will crawl back somehow when I lose a little more weight. That makes me feel better and voila - I might be more energetic ;-)

Find some physical fitness activities you like to do or take this as an opportunity to venture out and try something new

Well, mahjohn, that is the problem. I want to and then I can't move and that is frustrating. Goal is and it is really not much is to get in 10000 steps a day. You have no idea how difficult it can be. Sitting job. Sure, the treadmill is available but then I lack the energy. I actually made it out to the beach the last two weekends - have not walked there (actually did not walk at all last year) for an eternity. I know it lifts my spirits to walk along the water and still I was unable to do it. So,this is a small achievement. But it is the small and constant steps that get us somewhere, right?

Jozette, from experience, I hate doing exercise. I don't jump up and down and go YAY!!! time to work out!! Never happens. I just do it to get it over with and it seems to be working so far. If you wait for motivation, it will never happen. Try something small like Chris Powell's youtube vid for beginners it's like 10 mins (maybe 15?) and it won't have you dying like some of the other "beginner" youtube vids. If YT isn't your thing, do something else...something enjoyable like a walk to the park, thru the park, the mall (people walk around the mall for exercise) or whatever something interesting. :) For your sitting job, can you ask for a sit stand station? That way you can periodically stand and still be able to sit? Something to consider. I have a sit down job too but I got one of those stations. It helps. I also use one of my breaks and half my lunch as my exercise time, that way, no getting out of it. It's scheduled. I still hate it, but I do it, like I said, to get it over with and then I can enjoy my evening at home. :) Hope that helps.

To give you another perspective, I love to garden, but tilling the ground, weeding, and doing all the other stuff to get it ready is NOT fun. I do it because the results are lovely but I've never been one to jump up and down and praise to high heaven I have to do tilling/weeding/etc. I do it because of the results. In your case, you can say, I don't like doing (insert exercise here) but I will do it so I can look better (or whatever you motivation is for getting healthier.)
