BAAAADDDDD WEEKEND!!! Went camping with friends and family for my birthday. Indulged in a Burger AND a hotdog on Sat, then followed up with Fajitas on Sunday, as well as about 10 of my favorite cookies over the course of 3 days. Ended it with Olive Garden pasta last night. SOOooooo, needless to say, I feel as if I am back at square one. Since it was my birthday, I consider this my New year REsolution. My goals:

Drink no less than 200 ounces of water a day.
Eat Carbs mainly in the mornings, none at dinner.
No snacking after dinner, other than fruit or vegetable.
Bump up excersise to 5 times a week instead of just 3.
Journl my food on the weekends too. I am really bad at this one now.

here's to my new year!!

Good Luck Tracy. Have you looked into the South Beach Diet? It really focuses on when/how to eat carbs/fruits/starchy vegetables. Happy Belated Birthday! Have a great week :)

One trick I use for dealing with weekends is to follow my diet routine very strictly during the work week and then reward myself on the weekend by relaxing my diet rules. Allowing myself the diet relaxation keeps me from feeling guilty which in turn makes it easier to use some moderation in the amount of evil goodness I eat.

My birthday on the 5th too! I'm 47 now, still feel 27 in my head, just can't say the same when I look in the mirror...lol!! I agree with lottotx if you're really good during the week you can ease off a bit at the weekend. I watch my carbs (they just make me hungry)but keep to 1500 cals too as I just think I can't go wrong. As long as you hit a 3500 deficit over the week you should loose a pound. If that means your weekly deficit falls from 8000 to 3500 just from the weekend so be it. The odd thing is after a while you may not want to, as you would have lost 2lbs! But it's all about living with this....forever... and we all love a blow out from time to time. Just keep going Di XX
