I am a full time working parent with two boys, ages 9 and 7. I work as an accountant, tax preparer and put in many hours on my butt behind a desk. I love to lift weights, hate to do cardio. Not easy getting 270 pounds moving on a treadmill, but manage to do 3.5 miles per hour regardless. I have finally decided to put myself first and hit the gym after work. I love my boys and want to be able to chase them in the back yard without hearing my flab flapping!!

Left Weight Watchers and back to Fat Secret!!
I was with WW for 3 months. This site just has better information and is free. Started my weight loss challenge last year. Lost 35 pounds to date, some before I began Fat Secret. Have missed the gym this summer with such a busy schedule. Kids soon back in school and can get back on the work out train. Want to drop another 50 pounds by next April. Here's hoping.....

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I weigh in everyday. I shouldn't though as it can be discouraging. But it keeps me in check. I am thinking of switching to Wed Mornings and Sunday morning.

I have been dieting for 3 - 4 weeks and nothing!!!! What am I doing wrong??
I have never been one to excersice, hence my 265# frame. But for the last 3-4 weeks, i have been hitting the gym 3 days a week. I do 40 minutes on weight machines, 20-30 on treadmill at 3.5 MPH, and 10 min in excercise bike as warm up. My caloric intake has been averaging 1500 to 1750. I am really frustrated with it. This week, I am cutting out all white grains, and really watching the sugar intake. I drink only black coffee in morning and water the rest of the day. No diet pop and no add ins with the water. If someone could look at my journal, maybe you have some insight for me??
