I have a theory but it flies in the face of most of your experience.
I have shrunk my stomach on the course of this WOE. Recently I've begun drinking 64 oz of water. The first day I really had to stretch my stomach to force the whole 64 oz down - to the point of pain. Now it seems that my stomach is stretched and I want to eat more.
Has any one else had this problem?

Buffy, I have not experienced that, not saying that it can't happen, I don't know. Here is what I'm thinking: You are having black beans which may not be as satisfying as the meat. Maybe for now leave out the beans (I know they are healthy, love them too)and increase the meat portion. Just a thought. :)

water is obviously good for us when dieting but be careful when you are consuming large quantities - we want you to be safe too :-)

GG - Thanks, but unfortunately I have had the appetite increase since I began the water. I only started the black beans yesterday. Nice hearing from you.

Try cut back the water- remember the recommended water intake includes water content that is found in our food too, so maybe you are getting too much, personally as long as your pee is a light colour your water intake is fine, that's how I monitor mine anyway hope this helps :)

AKCanookie - Nice to meet you - and thank you for your comments. Although I was a long way from water poisoning - I do think I was stupid in forcing 32 oz of water on a full stomach just to satisfy a Challenge requirement.

Tracy - Thanks. Have decided to cut back water to 4 oz at a time until I can get my stomach re-shrunk. I did go on line and re-read latest studies on water and weight loss. A lot of it is the timing of the water as much as the quantity.

Hi Buffy, I was drinking loads of water, but began feeling a bit dizzy..... Eventually tracked it down to TOO MUCH water... It can make you deficient in certain things (forgot what at the moment - but google it) once I drank when I was thirsty (I always have a glass by my side) the dizziness went. I also included a bit of salt in my diet as. Don't eat pre-packed food, so think I was low on that to. I seem to remember runners having real problems, if he guzzle too much water in one go.

By the way... I think Triaby is right, if your pee is light in colour, you are getting enough :-)

I think forcing yourself to drink any amount of water is ridiculous. Drink as much as you can and slowly work your way up to more. I started drinkign 32 ounces a day and am now drinking anywhere from 96 - 128 ounces of water day. I have never had an increased appetite while drinking water - if anything it has decreased. I looked and you have a good amount of protein, maybe you need more fiber? I really have no idea. I do know it takes an awful lot of water to give you water intoxication. If you are interested here is a decent page I found with some iformation. http://tinyurl.com/4h9xh

Skinny - thanks for that. And, trust me, my pee is plenty light.

Pixi - Am guilty as charged (of being ridiculous). More fiber wouldn't hurt either. That is one thing I am working on - adding in small amounts of low glycemic, high fiber food (black beans, sweet potato, etc.) Thanks for checking up on me.

Its a sodium deficiancy that happens from too much water. Basically its the same is dehydration but is overhydration. A good rule of thumb is if your urine is clear - light yellow you are good to go. I drink so much water because of where I work if I didn't I might die of dehydration from all this sweating lol

Sounds like you might be consumimg too much at once- try to spread it more evenly throughout the day and don't drink more than is comfortable. You definitely do have to listen to you body on this- when I'm not exercising, for example, my water intake drops off and then it takes a while to get back up to where I was before.

gnat - good advice. I'm thinking 4 oz at a time, especially before meals and snacks.

You have such a wonderful heart & couragous spirit, I admire you so much. I think you are on a better track with the water now Buffy, lots of little steps still add up to leaps in the end!

Oh, I forgot to answer your question; No, I didn't have that problem at all, the opposite in fact.

Hi Buffy, hope you can get your water in but I have to agree with Gnat824 you may be drinking too much at one time..I drink on mine all day long.. And if by chance I don't get the whole last 8oz glass in well thats too bad...But your doing wonderful for one that was not a
water drinker before...Have a great Labor Day weekend.....Brne

GG - Thanks - and baby steps - yep, that's me. Just have to use common sense with this one.

Bren - Yes, this was all because of that stupid Challenge. Will get my stomach shrunk back down.

Buffy - maybe the comments about drinking too much water at one time might make sense. I don't know how much you have been trying to drink in one setting, but use the 4oz each time, then increase to 8oz. My bottle is 16oz & it's usually with me all day, so I drink periodically, not a lot at one time. Hope this helps. Have a great weekend :)
