Ended up running at the gym yesterday. I can't stand running on the treadmill. 50 minutes seemed like forever. I couldn't stand it. I had to. I actually ran 5 miles, but kept thinking it dragged on after the first ten minutes. I am so glad I can run outdoors. I wouldn't be able to train for this if I had to run on the treadmill all of the time.
It felt good having a lady next to me looking at my speed. She kept glancing over and I think she wanted to know how fast I was running. I would switch from 5.5 to 7.5. It felt good to go fast, but again boring as can be. Perhaps that is why I paid attention to what she was doing. LOL
If I definitely have to I will, but will avoid the treadmill as much as I can.
Off today. We hit the track tomorrow morning to work on speed training. My sister kicks my butt. She is sooo fast, but at least I look forward to improving my time.
I have nasty blisters on my feet. I think its time to switch running shoes.

LOL!!! I know what you mean about it being boring. I prefer being outdoors also when I run, which is why I avoid the treadmill at the gym and do the elliptical. At least my arms get a workout that way, too. It IS boring. And I get a lot of people looking at my speed too. Last time I ran at the gym I was mostly at 6.5 and would do intervals of 1 minute at 9.0. That was fun.

Oooh. I did speed training at the track yesterday for the first time. NOT FUN! But I'm glad I did it. I'm still fairly new at this running thing, mostly doing 5Ks, and reading your accomplishments is very inspiring! Thanks!
