I have heard that Diet Coke is worse for you than regular Coke because of the artificial sugars they use is really bad for you. I know it’s easier said than done, but how about you drink a bottle of cold water first before you reach for the Coke. But do make sure that the water is really cold.

Perhaps you could have a money jar for something special you want for yourself or someone you love. And every time you drink a glass of water instead of a diet coke, you put the money you've saved in the jar.

I used to drink sodas often and I stayed thirsty all the time and I could feel my legs swelling. I don’t know what ingredient in the soda that was making me so thirsty but since I switched to water I don’t have those issues anymore

I'm to cheap to buy soda. The other day it was $10 for a 12 pack of Pepsi, 7-up ginger ale, everything. A couple days later I bought a 12 pack of coke for $7.99 Drinking no more than one a day.

Maybe make yourself drink a glass of water between each one? Like your soda is a reward for drinking the water?

I love Shirfleur's idea! I've also been taking $ usually spent on going out/wine on treats for myself like massages and facials!

I gave up sodas 15 years ago as advised by my Dr because of all the additives in them. I don't miss them at all, I have taken the occasional sip and they taste awful to me now. I was a real diet Pepsi addict. Aspartame is really bad for us, Google it. It makes us crave the diet soda which in the long run will sabotage weight loss because aspartame stimulates the appetite. Switch to tea, water, LaCroix, Hint. ln time you won't miss them at all. Blessings to you!

There is now a cola with stevia. It solves the aspartame issue but not the other additives.

Are used to drink about a 12 pack of diet sodas a day I quit drinking them 10 years ago or so and went to water I will have one every now and then if we go out to dinner but very rarely they are very bad on your body and your liver most people don’t know that you can get cirrhosis of the liver from any kind of diet soda my doctor advised me to quit drinking them

My mom drank a six pack my whole life. She died relatively young from dementia. There is a possible link. Please try to stop.

Diet soda is not recognized by your body as food so it stores UFOs (Unidentified Food Objects) as fat, makes your liver struggle. You can find credible research on this by 'googeling' for info. Grandson was addicted to Mountain Dew, gained fast, switched ti diet version and gained faster to unhealthy level, then developed kidney stones. Doing much better now but he realized that he was using it as a stress-reliever. The heavier he got the more he had begun using/drinking it. Older son was also hooked on Coke and was drinking at least two 2-liter bottles a day to help stay awake and for the sugar. As a long-haul trucker, it has devastated his health. He was finally able to cut waaay down and switch to water. I wish you well on breaking free. The way I did (Coke also) was to remind myself that the purpose behind so many additives in our modern food supply is to raise profits and I told myself I was beating a greedy system every time I didn't 'bite.'

I reviewed your food diary and see that you're getting a lot of your carbs and calories from processed foods. I you can start buying more plain food, e.g., meat, eggs, veges and fruit, and make tasty meals and snacks from them, you would find your cravings diminish. The less our food is 'messed with' commercially, the better!

I said a prayer for you. You are strong and when you’re ready you will conquer this with God’s help. 🙏🏼❤️

84 Diet Cokes a week. 4,368 Diet Cokes per year. On average of .69 cents per can in 12 packs, the annual cost is $3,013.92. That is equivalent to the cost of 3, 86" UHD TV's. This is addictive behavior. The help of a professional would make stopping more successful in the long term. I hope you find the right solution for a healthy future.

I'm 71 and a member of the hamburger, fries, and coke generation. We never had sodas in the household where I grew up. We only had milk and water normally. I didn't know I had it so well. When I became a teenager and began making my own beverage choices, I started drinking sodas. Luckily, for me, my preference for water and milk returned. Every time I drink water, I know I'm drinking something good for me and aiding my health. I equate drinking a soda as the same as smoking a cigarette, compared to breathing clean air...
