I'm usually fairy exhausted by evening. And here is is dark by 4:30. No lights anywhere.

Morticia, I discovered there’s a big difference between mentally exhausted and physically exhausted. Most of the time I’m mentally exhausted but unable to have a deep sleep or my sleep is full of nightmares such as fighting medieval warriors for a stunning princess, running out of money, jumping off my fast bike or negotiating with angel of death 🕊️🎵😴 It is just me or others too?

even with my running my watch says I don't get enough deep sleep. I'm not sure how accurate it is though 🙃

Asarver, May I ask what app are you using ? You run in the evening at 80% of max HR zone 2?

Can't remember the last time I slept thru the night. Toss, turn, get up to go to the bathroom.. night terrors/sleep paralysis some nights. Not fun! But yeah, definitely stress/mental fatigue here also.

That's a difference of 2-3 minutes depending on your age. You'd think it would be higher.

Windy Day- My formula for not waking up in the middle of the nite for a bathroom is to have my last drop of drink or a final meal especially sugary food by 6pm. See if that works for you too. Effectively, this is fasting during sleep until coffee time at 6am. Give it a try !

Windy Day- I might add, NO caffeine (coffee or tea) at all after 3pm, only drink water or enjoy fruit smoothies - All the best :)

I have a Garmin watch, but I almost always run in the morning. It's too hot in the afternoon 😂😂 but you'd think any exercise should help with deep sleep

UnhealthyDaddy, Not sure how they derive that 3%. Since sleep has 4-5 stages, that 3% may only be part of a deep sleep segment. In my case, I feel like 75% higher deep sleep after a rigorous EVENING workout - sleep like a log haha

Asarver ~ I experimented both morning and evening run (I did an evening run 1.5 hour before sunset or so). I discovered a "Big" help to deep sleep with an evening run especially with a tad push on the pace. You're welcome to try an evening run at 80% of your max HR and later report back on your deep sleep status.. if you like. All the best !

Asarver ~ Go for at at least 4-5 miles non stop :) 😁

I'm not sure I can fit that in my schedule 😜 I'm glad you found something that works for you!

Makes perfect sense even sounds fun if only I had time to sleep, lol.

Matt, I've been pretty good about fasting most days from 7pm to 10 or 11 lately. I do drink water and herbal tea tho, but already keeping coffee to the morning/afternoon hours. (Usually!) Hoping its a temporary thing, from too much on my mind. Thanks for the well wishes! :)

I'm usually both mentally and physically exhausted. More physically. I have a lot of work to do and more work heaped on me all the time. I have a sick husband, 5.5 acres, a house, 5 outbuildings, 2 cars, and a boat to take care of. Hubby does what he can.
