ShyGuy's Journal, 06 August 2015

I know I haven't been around much lately, but I haven't been idol. Though I haven't made any food entries, I have cut back on my eating. I've also been busy bumping up my physical activity. I've been going to physical therapy, for my shoulder, which was dislocated, back in May, and doing the home exercises assigned to me. I've also been doing a lot of walking. My sister has a white German Shepard, and I've been walking him, twice a week, for the past 3 weeks, increasing my distance each week. She lives in a sub division, and one lap around the court is .4 miles, so I started with that, and I've been adding a lap each week. Her dog is a bit overweight, so we both benefit from the walks; which he enjoys, because it gives him an extra opportunity to get out of the house. I'm sure he wishes I would let him loose to chase squirrels, rabbits, and ground hogs, but that's not going to happen, and he gets plenty of opportunities to do that when my sister has him out in the yard with her other dogs. Once I make my way up to 4 or 5 miles, on a regular basis, and my weight has dropped down sufficiently, we may start transitioning to running, which I haven't done in years. Moving from victory to victory. :-)

Diet Calendar Entry for 06 August 2015:
3764 kcal Activities & Exercise: Walking (slow) - 2/mph - 45 minutes, Resting - 15 hours and 15 minutes, Sleeping - 8 hours. more...

it's somewhat paradoxal. If you're a lot on this site, while you are, you're not exercising! Welcome back. Happy to hear that things are good for you. Keep on keeping on! You'll get there!

I'm glad to see you back! I miss seeing the recipes you're concocting, especially Frittata Friday combinations. I've had a tough time staying with my "healthstyle" this past spring and so far this summer, but I think I've finally turned that corner and I'm ready to tackle my weight and health once more. I look forward to reading your posts!

Thanks ladies. I haven't kept up with the Frittata Friday thing either, but will start up again this Fall. As far as the recipes are concerned, those will return this Fall as well. I've been finding a lot of ethnic recipes, on the internet, and will be looking for ways to adapting them to the low carb lifestyle. Many Korean, Greek, and Brazilian recipes are already close to being low carb, so it shouldn't take much revision. The same can be said about the recipes I've been finding on the various barbecue/ grilling sites I've been able to find; so I'll be firing up the smoker this Fall. Two things I especially look forward to making are Montreal Smoked meat, and Duck Pastrami, as well as some smoked hot wings, and Grill Roasted leg of lamb with plenty of garlic and rosemary. :-)
