Otb, Draglist, johnny, and Tom, thanks guys!🩷 Mainecoon, you are so sweet! 🩷🩷 Annamommy and buentia. Thank you! I'm really blessed to be close to my nephews!🩷🙏 Newme, thank you! I loved your post showing your picture!🩷🩷 YOH, Thanks! I'm not as glamorous as you though! I loved seeing Joe's family! We aren't as close as we were before his mom passed. She kind of held us all together and after she passed they all kind of drifted away. 🩷

YOH, To answer your food question. I was very worried but figured they would at very least have some fruits and veggies. I was hoping for a salad. My nephew is Italian and his wife is from the Philippines so I knew there would be a lot of fried food and foods with lots of sauces. I considered bringing my own salad but Joe thought it would be disrespectful. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they had salmon and plain chicken ( to put on Alfredo) I just grabbed those and some watermelon and grapes. We sat away from food tables and I did fine. I did have cake but shared a small piece with my SIL. I ate 3 bites. Honestly I am so used to refraining from certain foods that it didn't bother me that much. Also interacting with family also kept me distracted.

So last night, we are staying at a residence inn with full kitchen as we are here for a month but…not the same thing as being at home with a fully stocked kitchen. Anyway, last night i was actually starving and as I’ve been really trying (and sometimes failing) to keep my protein up that means a lot of protein shakes (a couple a day) protein protein protein. However, im tired of protein shakes for dinner so was sitting here dreaming of…ready?…pizza. Which I haven’t had in over a year. I asked hubs what he wanted for dinner and so funny he said pizza. I almost said yes but what came out of my mouth was “thats what i was thinking but i know i cant do that yet”. So i had a yam and a protein muffin. Not the same thing😂

YOH, I understand! Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail. I am blessed that usually I can abstain but when I don't it takes me 2-3 days to recoup! That's why when I'm strict I don't really do true cheat days. The recovery is just to hard! I'm lucky to be in maintenance and I'm trying to relax a bit but I'm pretty programmed to eat a certain way. I do have cheat meals once in awhile and for me pizza is what I really want..it's ok cuz I can recover from that...most times anyway. You have to find what works good for you. I eat a lot of eggs, cooked chicken, and I limit my protein shakes to 3xs a week or they start bothering my stomach. I do eat protein bars once in awhile. You are limited by where you are so do your best. I wish I had better advice..🩷🩷

YOH, I'm not a fast food person but Joe just reminded me that Chic fil a has grilled chicken nuggets. I have had them in a pinch. Also Panera has some good options, I just take off bread. Jimmy Johns has a unwhich ( it's any sandwich choice, wrapped in lettuce instead of bread) Just some options for protein.🩷

Thanks Diana! Im so worn down i cant even contemplate what to eat except the routine and unhealthy stuff of course😂. Unfortunately for me one bad day takes me about 7-14 days to correct and as i dont have a scale down here and im not working out nor walking much (every couple hours on walker for 5-10) im certain im gong to have a 10 pound gain even trying to keep the calories down. Im forgoing the sub 1000 calories for higher protein needs in efforts at recovery per drs words my body needs calories to heal but im secretly freaking out over what the scale demon is going to reveal in a few weeks. Whew. Thanks for the vent!

YOH, I am sorry this is so difficult! I really feel bad for the pain and anxiety this is causing you. Wish I could help more! Joe also mentioned that maybe hubby could get you a rotisserie chicken from market and some low carb tortillas. Pull it apart, Slap some salsa on it and you got a chicken wrap . Low calorie and high protein. Take care and still praying for you!🩷🙏
