Yesterday felt productive. I thoroughly cleaned both cars including using the carpet cleaner to wash the carpets. It took me 4 hours! Afterward I did a lot of regular housework and then later GoodMan and I went into town to listen to some street musicians and share a dinner and an ice cream. We stopped at the grocery store and the home improvement store after dinner so I wouldn't have to go out tomorrow. When we got home I watched "The Butler" on Netflix - not what I expected, but good nonetheless.
Today's plans include an hour on the elliptical, followed by a swim in the pool - actually I plan to use the pool brush to sweep the bottom of the pool, so it is more of a cleaning project than a swim. After lunch I plan to cover the new egress windows with paper so I can spray stain on the new trim without getting it all over the windows. We had two new egress windows put in along with a new window and door in the back of the garage. All of the trim needs to be stained. I'm thankful we have a sprayer. The actual spraying should only take an hour or so...it's the prep and clean-up that takes all afternoon.
Healthstyle-wise things are moving along. I don't have the fervor I had in the beginning, but I feel good about wanting to stay with it and getting myself back on track after gaining a couple of pounds. It has not been as easy for me to say no to indulgences (like last night's ice cream), but I do find myself taking smaller portions or choosing healthier indulgences. I am only half way to my goal so I need to find my mojo again!

Smaller portions are good. WOW! you are getting a lot done. I need to do that to my car as well, its awful. I hate getting in it. Maybe tomorrow. Sweeping the pool should be terrific exercise. I don't know how you make it on the elliptical for an hour! That's amazing.

I did my hour on the elliptical. I have a Nordic Track brand elliptical. The display says I burned 960 calories... I doubt it's accurate, but I compare each day's workout on the same machine so I know when I'm improving. WFN, I built up my time on the elliptical. I started out doing 10 minutes at resistance level 3 and when I could do that without being completely soaked with sweat I either upped my time or my resistance. I also stop every 10 minutes for a drink of water and get back on before the display resets - approximately 1 minute.Today I was able to get back to the time and resistance level I was at before my summer got crazy and I stopped dedicated exercise.

Good advice. I can only make about 10 minutes at the gym on one, usually after a strength workout. I should try just doing the cardio and take a couple minutes off and try more, in the summer with everything going on and the stadium traffic I don't get there as often so I concentrate on the strength. The community center is so hot in the summer I don't stop in there for cardio like I do in the winter, it's closer to home.

I was right about the work outside. The prep and clean-up took longer than the actual staining. Counting the prep, spray staining, and clean-up it took 4 hours. Now I'm off to make a healthy dinner of grilled veggies and chicken sausages. I never did get in the pool to sweep today...hmmmm...maybe tomorrow!

It's usually all the prep work that takes forever. Sounds like a yummy dinner.

Sounds to me like you're doing great! I so admire your stamina on the eliptical, I can't use them but our DD does, & she can only do like 20 min's at a time. Your dinner does sound yummy, I hope it was. Have a great week! (((HUGS))) GLAMMER
