I have become serious about my weight loss goals as of recently. I have been going to the gym 3+ times a week now, I have completely cut out fast food, and I no longer drink soda pop. I have started to pack a lunch to work, but I have found that I am not losing weight as quickly as I would like. I would like to be 140 by Christmas this year, and hopefully still working towards my ultimate goal of 125.

Sounds like you have a good plan. I would add in logging everything you eat so that you know how many calories you are consuming and can make adjustments if needed. To be realistic you should look at 1-2 lbs/week for your weight loss. This would mean that getting to 140 by Christmas is achievable. Be diligent and determined.

I agree with Catherder. Good plan and it is possible to make that loss, and don't worry about that 5# stay focused. The gain is muscle and water most likely. And more muscle means burning more calories. Keep on climbing that mountain!
