Under by a hair but another goal achieved. 220lb was my weight in my early 50s. Does this mean I'm rolling back the clock? Next goal - 210. No significance to the number other than it is a midpoint to the next major milestone of 200.
Decided to finally quit smoking (for the umpteenth time). It is a stinky, ugly, expensive habit. Today is day 2. Wicked cravings at the moment. I have patches and lozenges courtesy of an Ontario quit program, but don't want to use them quite yet. Would rather be off nicotine sooner rather than later, but if need be I will use the product. Maybe the replacement behaviour needs to be to drink more water as I don't hydrate enough. Hmmm sounds like a plan.
On the exciting news front, my bariatric clinic recommended a food addiction counsellor Sandra Elia a few months back. Most of her programs are a bit pricey for me, but a new one comes within budget. Startng Sept 25th, a 90 day online group program "Why Love Matters in Weight Loss". The hope for me is that once and for all I can repair the mental aspect of why I turn to food for comfort/joy/solace/reward. My relationship with food resembles that of an alcoholic to alcohol. Has since childhood. I would like to fully internalise that food is nothing more than fuel. Important for survival? Yes. For use as a tool to meet emotional needs? Nah.
