Schedule change for me in my week. Am going to the gym tomorrow instead of today. I had forgotten about a food day at work tomorrow so will need to meet my commitment on that. Will do something @ home tonight for exercise.

Am in a better mood today even if the clouds are really dark and low with lightening, so far the rain is north of the city, though predicted here.

Decided I'm eating too much meat this week. I think it's causing heartburn and I'm getting hungry too quick so what is left is heading for the freezer after work. Back to eating mostly vegetarian today. Packed a lentil, grain, and greens dish for lunch today and fruit for snacks.

Nichol, as always I figure everyone has to find what works for them. For me I only have an issue if I start eating too much meat for my system, like this past week! Wasn't even hungry last night so didn't eat dinner. Went to bed early, did most of a Beachbody workout!! Yay me! further than I have ever gotten.

Thanks so much you have all made me feel much better about it I will Indeed add more fibre gradually. You are probably right that I added too much too quickly. I went from an average meat and two veg type diet to almost vegetarian (not that I gave up meat) as soon as I got a new budget cookery book and I made loads of the recipes for lunch and evening meal. Lots of veg, beans and lentils. I will add these things gradually this time and slowly allow my fibre intake to increase.

Pinkmoo, If you bing or google high fiber there are lots of sites out there. With lots of info on high fiber foods, advantages and also the side affects that can occur if you are not used to it. Some also get into the pitfalls of a low carb plan not having enough fiber and ways to supplement that issue and still be within the plan. You had me concerned about a maximum that I had never heard of. I was checking while I was at work today off and on when I had a minute. Yes, there can be side affects with a really high fiber diet but from what I saw if you add approx. 5 grams average until your body gets used to it you don't run into a lot of problems. Course not everyone fits the norm as Nichol stated. FYI: if you have gas issues there is an Indian spice (it smells dang awful), if you have any Indian store around, called asafetida that is supposed to reduce gas from legumes. You just use a tiny bit and it adds a little citrusy flavor. It does not smell bad once it is cooked. I've just gotten some so have only put it in a couple Indian curries. I'm going to start trying a bit in bean dishes as sometimes the gas is an occasional issue, though not like it was when I just ate boston baked beans every once in a while or chili. The sites on line I have found are pretty pricy but bought 2 oz in a local store for a bit under $2.50. It will last awhile only using 1/4 or 1/8 of a teaspoon at a time. When not eating meat in a day my fiber is often over 30 grams sometimes 40 or more. My HDL's are now, according to our work health screening, too high to measure with a finger stick method, they said the LDL's were not showing up due to the high HDL. Will be interested to see my blood work when I get my physical done this summer.

Hi I will try googleing "high fiber". I googled "too much fibre" last time so thats prob why I found all the negative stuff, it wasn't so much the gas I was worried about but getting an immovable blockage, but thats prob way higher than 30 I guess. Thanks. :-)
