Officially started resistance training...
First time since heart bypass surgery 8 weeks ago! I have been doing some wall pushups over the last week in a doorway to stretch my dormant chest muscles. Lst night I used some physical therapy rubber "scarfs" to warm up my biceps and chest even more. Today, I spent 20 minutes in the gym doing 1 set only, with no more than 20 reps, with 10 lb weights. I did flat bench flys, bicep curls, upright rows, chest pullovers, tricep kickbacks. Finished with 1 set of bench press with 45 lb bar, 12 reps only, followed by 1 set of rear lat pull downs with 25 lbs, 15 reps, and the same for front lat pull downs. 20 reps of 25 lbs on the ab machnie to warm up the abs and I was done! Good news.. nothng hurt. We shall see what tomorrow brings!

Thats awesome CK. You go boy! I would like to do that by the time I slip under 300 lbs. Until then its cardio walk and pool. But I can't wait to get some weight up. Not fat pounds of weight but STEEL baby! lol

@Ashock34: if you are in the pool anyway, get some of those water aerobics mitts and start getting some resistance training in there while relaxing in the pool. That will be a nice warm-up for your muscles so when the time to throw some STEEL up does come, you muscles won't scream so loud in the days that follow. When I checked into the ER for chest discomfort, my CK serum level (creatine kinase ) was super elevated (above 17,000) a full 3 days after lifting weights for the first time in 4 months. It wasn't even a heavy lifting thing. I stayed with 10-15 lb dumb bells and did 3 sets or 20 reps each. Very slight "pump" in my opinion, but still brought the pain of muscle recovery the next day!
