Those are also the recommendations of the American Heart Association and what my doc has advised me to follow given the genetic history of heart disease in my family. Keep in mind those carbs should be made up of predominantly complex carbs (whole grains, beans, nuts, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato etc) and not "white" carbs (such as white flour, white rice, etc).
