RN16's Journal, 15 November 2022

I've been doing trigger sessions on my non-gym days. Basically, on the days I walk. I couldn't walk today, because of rain all day. I use a band, which is light to me now and been doing upper body workout for 40 mins, just to keep the muscles stimulated. I've been wanting to do this on non-gym days after work, but my body hurts, my back be killing me and I'm starving after work. After work I just want to go home shower, eat and sit down and relax. I have to go back to work in 2 weeks and I'm scared on how my back is going to hold up. I know I need to go back, because I'll be running out of PAL soon, which means no more pay checks. I have some goals in mind as far as work goes and where I want to work now, just have to wait for 5 mo's or so.

I think you are a nurse (like me)— so I’m guessing you already know about always wearing good quality shoes that will allow for the best posture and back support. Beaten down, worn she’s throws your balance and your posture off which results in hip and back issues. Make sure you have your feet assessed for any special kind of orthotics you might need. I have found that for my needs, they make super orthotics that are sold OTC.

If I understand correctly, you are thinking of tweaking your career path. And if yes, I wish you so much luck. Even lateral moves can be amazing. I would hope RNs can throw their weight around somewhat, COVID world and all... you deserve to have a good work/life balance. We all do.

Thank you. The chiropractor gave me an insert to wear in my right shoe since my right leg is 3 cm shorter than the left. I wear sketchers with the cushion souls. I'm definitely can't wait to get into another job that's less demanding on my body and where I can take of myself like drink fluids, get a lunch. I just have to wait about 5 mos.
