But wouldn’t it be fun to do — like take them to your job as Halloween treats. The look on everyone’s face would be worth it. I did that once with a group of friends. I had a “banana split party”. I had found these really small banana split dishes.— I went to the kitchen and made them up and let everyone else just visit and then brought them out to serve. The looks on their faces was worth all the effort. Then I brought out the real dishes and we unabashedly pigged out.

🤣 I could do it! Only for the initial joke. Then reward them for being good sports like you did. Banana splits are a fav. Next summer I will give in if only for 1 😋

If the teenagers come to my door before 8 and are appropriately dressed in some semblance of a costume— even a mask, and say trick or treat— they get the candy. They could be out doing a lot worse. Sometimes it’s good to just be a kid again.

I'm ready, but My kids will get the junk. I tried to find like little goldfish packs, figured it was better than candy, but no such luck

Goldfish packs are no better than candy- fats and salt. But Halloween only comes once a year, for many people. For others, they eat like this every day which is where the problem is.

This year I made up little Halloween gift packs with one of the 100 calorie popcorns and 4 little Hershey miniatures. Put a little Halloween bow on the baggie and a Halloween sticker and boom, I’m done.
