Had my 1st MMA class with my boyfriend last night. In the beginning we did a bit of HIIT. I did the whole training without resting. I am pretty impressed, I didn't expect myself to be that decent in shape. Last august I couldn't do 1 push up. Yesterday I did 20 with a mini rest inbetween. I never though I would see myself do that many pushups!
My boyfriend was dying behind me but its ok, he loves training so I know he will get back into shape.

After the class we both signed up. So now my BF has no excuses. I am so excited to start training. I want to be able to beat up the next person who tries to touch me the wrong way. But hopefully that will never happen.

Also there are two other women in the class! They are so excited to have another female. Everyone was so welcoming, the class wasn't huge so we had a lot personal help!

Love MMA. There's a gym locally that is owned by a 3rd generation master of Jeet Kun Do. He also teaches Ju jitsu, ninjutsu and mui thai. If I had the $300 per month to throw at training at his school I totally would.

My school teaches all that as well. And the belt process is long. They don't just hand belts over. The MMA gyms are typically expensive, but he cut us a deal since my boyfriend trained their for a long time before and we were singing up together, it is about $139 a month for each of us. Luckily we got that deal. $300 a month is pricey! I even found some MMA schools cheaper even in NYC (about 179-200 a month)

@millerm40- Haha yes will! It will take a few years though! He explained the black belt test. It is a week long!! It is insane, and the last part of the test is you have to fight 10 people none stop! Need to be in great shape

Nice! I also got excited when I could do my first full body push-up. I am old...never could before...now I can almost do 10 - which is a huge deal for me!

That's awesome HCB! You should be pretty proud. It is awesome to see how you gain strength when you work hard. I still couldn't believe I could do more than 6.. LOL
