I started a low fat diet around 6-14 and by 7-10 I had lost nearly 12 pounds. Then the weight loss just stopped without much change in the diet. During the time I was losing I lost a fraction of a pound nearly every day. I kept my calories around 900-1200. I usually do IF, but sometimes I really only have one "meal" a day since breakfast is often just coffee and 1 slice of toast with jam (no butter, low fat). I did make tacos 2 or 3 times during that time, sometimes having them 2 or 3 days in a row depending on how much taco meat there was. I still lost weight on those days. The calories were within guidelines. I don't follow macros like most people here do. I watch calories, try to get a minimum of 40 grams of protein and keep fat calories to around 20%. On the taco days fat grams are around 40% of the day's total. I remember thinking that losing something every single day was very unusual for me and I was going to ask my doctor to check my thyroid. I have had an overactive thyroid (Graves disease) twice and losing weight quickly has happened when I've dieted not realizing my thyroid issue. But then the weight loss just stopped so I didn't ask for the thyroid test. Now I am trying to try to re-create that month's eating. I tend to eat the same things so I'm going back to toast with jelly in the morning, maybe a baked potato with barbecue sauce on it for lunch, no dinner just 12 ounces of fat free milk. A couple times I stir fried vegetables. I ate lots of grapes and then got on a tomato soup kick where I would have a can of Campbell's tomato soup mid afternoon to keep the hunger away at night. So I'm trying again but I made tacos today because I had thawed the ground beef! Will see what the scale says tomorrow. I cooked 6 ounces of ground beef and used half, maybe a little more today and will finish tomorrow with either one or two tacos. The most puzzling thing is why I lost the weight so quickly and so consistently. I've been doing this for years, similar WOE, IF and stop eating by 2 or 3pm. Never lost so quickly. I don't want to lose weight quickly but I'd like to start losing something again.
