I lost the extra weight from yesterday's weight gain, and down 1 more lb overall! Yeaaaaaa.... I feel like the tortoise. Patiently, slowly getting to my goal. That is OK with me, because I have to also concentrate on toning up my loose skin. I know because of my age and being post menopausal it is going to be just as much work as losing weight. I understand that if you loose more than 2 lbs per week, the faster you create loose skin and your body can't keep up with shrinking unless you fuel it with resistant exercise. I read that it can take up to two years after weight loss to tone your body. So again, I will need to learn new processes and be patient as the tortoise! LOL!

UPDATE: I was bad this afternoon starting with going without lunch, then by this evening I was ravenous while I was at a baseball game. Here came the chips w/nacho sauce. This is my first time deciding to go off my WOE. Going w/out a real lunch was not a good thing at all. Eating normal meals are so important when you are striving to lose weight. I logged my nacho cheese dinner and ended up w/double carbs for the day. So, now it's time to move forward and eat regulary, and strive to make better food choices when away from home.

Doing great, Cheryl!

I've heard something similar, but it's more along the lines of "everything that's going to snap back will have done so within 2 yrs after your done losing weight." There's only so much you can do as far as skin goes but strength training will help by improving the shape of the muscle underneath. Something's gotta fill that leftover space, right? I mean, be realistic, but there is still stuff you can do to help it along. Besides the exercise, make sure you moisturize faithfully. That will help with elasticity.

@kstubblefield: Yes! Exactly what you say is what I read. Along with moisturizing, I also read to help your skin bounce back it is encouraged that you bath or shower and exfoliate 2x per day to get rid of the dead skin that occurs because of weight loss (I know we normally lose a full layer of our skin each week anyways). Another point I read was to massage the loose skin daily to increase blood flow to those areas. (I googled and found several different studies and articles, and they all pretty much said the same thing. I don't know if these things will truely help, but I am willing to follow suggestions, can't hurt.) I have a two-story home. Since starting Atkins back in Feb I have been using the stairs for exercise. And, I am up and down them all day long (3 grandkids; 11, 8, & 5 in the house), so needless to say, my legs and banny-hind are staying pretty toned. My problem areas are my arms and front lower stomach (pouch). YIKES!!! I'm hoping with time and hard work that part of me will still respond and bounce back in kind. But, if it doesn't happen, I won't sweat it. I am becoming healthier each day and living a full happy active life! :)

I hear ya there! Yeah, I don't have any illusions about my upper arm flab magically tightening up completely just because I let myself gain SO much. But I can live with it, there's no way I'd rather have all the fat back! :)

Moondove;Iam in the same place as you are only I have 21 yrs on you. My problems are arm flags, thigh flops and stomach sag. I don't have much hope for "snap back" in any area but I still try most of what I hear may help.

@kstubblefield: I let it happen to me and have to accept that I am not going to have a perfect body. But boy I am sure gonna enjoy my life and have some fun along the way. If I would have stayed the way I was, well we all know what kind of life that would be. I am glad that I have gotten to where I am, and welcome this WOL! :)

@2B Thin: I don't think that all parts of my body are going to 'snap back' either. One clue I noticed, is that my earings sag a little when I wear danglies! Darn It! LOL! This is the last week of teaching for my daughter (I do kidling care afternoons/evenings for her), so I will be free to do some more things "Just For ME". Swimming is one that I am aiming for.
