Well, had a bit of a surprise setback last week: woke up with such a sore right hip that I couldn't even walk. Hubby carried me out to the la-z-boy in our living room and set me up with the phone, the channel changer, a cup of coffee, some energy bars and fruit, and a jug of water. Ended up calling an ambulance because I thought maybe, just maybe, I'd managed to slightly dislocate my hip at bowling the night before. As it turns out, I have either osteoarthritis of the right hip joint, or IT band tendonitis, or bursitis---or a little bit of each! Egads! I didn't see this coming at all! But after lots of rest and ice, 11 Naproxins, two chiro adjustments, and one physiotherapy appt, I feel LOTS better this morning. The throbbing, blinding pain is gone from my hip and knee, replaced with just a bit of stiffness. I can get to the toilet all by myself, and did laundry in the basement over the weekend, without any problems going up or down the back stairs. Whew!! I don't ever want that to happen again. So now I'm trying to get back on track with eating and exercising, starting today.
