Decided not to lift weights until I find out what I have. Weight lifting worsens some motor neuron diseases.

Hoping the visit leads to a better understanding of what's going on and a path to getting better.

Ditto jmb3450 comment. I know you are busy researching this topic. Take care of yourself. You are in my thoughts and prayers. ((Hugs))

Thanks, everyone.

kattay, at this point, I don't have enough information to do further research. I could speculate, but it is pointless. Autoimmune disease? Low T? Nutritional deficiency? Low HGH? Inability to use protein? I don't have the resources or training to know. All I can do is keep an open mind and prepare to be surprised.

So agree, my docs have ok'd and recommended me to do my exercise including weights. So supportive of following what you should do with respect to your health situation especially if you are not a healthy teenager. Hoping for you that the doc can figure out what is going on. Wish I could recommend you to my niece and her DH. Niece is a neuropath, her DH is an autoimmune doc, they live in Sidney Australia, so a bit far away. Grins.

wholefoodnut, I am leaving it to the experts. As for my judgment calls, my father once asked me how Steve Jobs would do after he returned to Apple. I said he would screw it up. Glad I wasn't a stockbroker… :-P

The mystery is that, while I'm not a healthy teenager, I am "healthy" as far as can be determined by EKG, CAT scan, blood and urine panel, chest x-ray, etc.

Chris, you are the same age as me, if I remember correctly, 65? I'm hoping for you that the docs come up with a plan for you. I would be so frustrated losing strength, and it limiting activities. I know how frustrating it was for me not to do things a couple years ago due to multiple issues.

There might be a cluster of issues or single underlying cause. We'll see what the neurologist says.
