Weighed in this morning... Gained 2 lbs for the week. I'm so so mad! I stuck to the diet even for the holiday and logged everything and still a gain. Ugh. I hope it's not because of this site/app. Just started it 6 days ago and boom, gain. But I don't think it could be the site because everything seems way more accurate than the Carb Manager I was using. Idk. I'm just so frustrated. I took my frustration out on John (my fiancé) all day. Then this afternoon I had to lay down because I was so upset. It took me about 2 hrs of laying there to calm down. I just don't know how to get past this. I'm so ready to give up, but I'm 85 lbs from my goal. And I want to be back to my old weight from when I was in college. I need to do this for my self-esteem. It's so low right now. And, I've been so crabby today because of the weight gain that I couldn't even enjoy Christmas music and decorations (the two things I wait for all year). This is just terrible. Idk what to do. It has been 4 weeks since I started Atkins and now I'm only netting 9 pounds lost for the whole month. The other members of the Atkins forums have lost 15 pounds in just two weeks. How do they do it? Why do I log and stick to plan on a major holiday only to gain weight?!

9 lbs is a great loss for a month! You are doing great. There will be bumps in the road just don't give up. Keep on with your plan and you will eventually succeed! I have had weeks where I stick to my plan and don't lose or even have a small gain. There are all sorts of reasons for this from building muscle to retaining water. Everybody's bodies are different so don't compare your weight loss to someone else's it will make you discouraged!

You may need to adjust your expectations. Nine pounds is insanely wonderful for this time of year. Maybe you had too much sodium the day before weigh in. Maybe it's hormones. There are many reasons our weight shifts all day long. Google "why the scale lies" for insight. why would you think about giving up when you started a weight loss program and your losing. Many people out there are lucky to lose a pound a week so you are way ahead and doing amazin. If you keep losing 9 or 10 pounds a month, you will lose 120 pounds in a year. Give yourself a break. Yes gains suck, it they happen to all of us at some point. Read the article. You know you were on plan, so it's most likely water weight from something. It could be tons of factors affecting the scale (not necessairly having to do with food). Some times we owe the scale and somtimes the scale owes us. Dig your heals in and keep going. You are doing great!

Thanks for the support. I really appreciate it. I never thought about it in a yearly perspective like that (120 lbs in one year). I just set unrealistic goals, I think, based on what testimonies I read of other people losing. But, you're right, I shouldn't compare my weight loss to others. It's just so hard though. But I have to stick through it. This whole community helps encourage me so much. Thanks again. I just needed some encouragement. You guys are great. :)

Not everyone loses weight the same. Maybe they had more weight to lose. First 2 week on Atkins I only lost 8-9 lbs. Don't give up. I looked at a few of ur meals and I think you should do 30 % protein, eat around 65 % fat definitely eat more veggies if ur on induction..At least 2 cups of salad veggies a day. I would also stay away from the Atkins product for the time being. They can stall or make u gain instead of lose. Drink lots of water. I try and drink half my weight in ounces.Good Luck!!!
