Another pound gone today and there's less of me visibly. Hurray!!!

Haven't touched a drop of alcohol since I was worried it was interfering with my weight loss. When my weight stabilizes I'll be able to go back to having a margarita or a glass of red wine or two. For now, it's banished to the no-no list.

I've also lost a lot since switching over from Splenda to the liquid sucralose. Nothing against Splenda, but it's about <1 carb per packet, and I can drink up to a pot of coffee a day or more at times. There are some things that I refuse to give up -- coffee is one of them. I think my blood-type registers as "C" for caffeinated.

Looking through recipes for new stuff to try. That's the hardest part of any new way of eating. Finding new things to eat. Staying away from most of the sweets because I know I can eat a whole batch if I make them.

What helps my will power stay strong is that I say to myself -- I've come this far, why turn back now?

I was at a birthday party last weekend and had been offered cake. I politely passed. The local supermarket sent me, of all cruel things, a chocolate and peanut butter protein bar packed with carbs. I cut it up and gave it to my son. It smelled SO good as I chopped it into pieces, but knew I had to pass it up.

If you notice 5 green beans on my list of things I ate yesterday, it's because I was making sure my children's food was done as I cooked their dinner. When I give them a handful of goldfish it takes all my being not to pop a few into my own mouth.

For me, I can't just outright ban "bad foods" from the house to get rid of my temptations. My kids can have a couple gummy worms... after they finish all of their meal. They can have snacks of goldfish, Cheerios, and Kix. I could too, but at the cost of packing on pounds, it's as simple as that. I'm not going to say "I can't eat that" because I know I can, but there is a price to pay for that decision.

I'm choosing not to.
