Wed 2021-07-28_My Supper plan changed. I got a text from my neighbour down the hall. He is an avid fisherman. He texted, "I am just coming in to marina from fishing, Do you want some salmon?" Of course I said yes. I prepared the vegetables, and he knocked on my door at 7pm with a beautiful chunk of coho salmon, I cut it up into 5 100g servings, put 4 in the freezer, and put one on the BBQ, skin side down and was enjoying it 5 minutes later. The plate looked so colourful I took a photo. In previous years I baked sweets as a return gift when he gave me salmon, halibut, or prawns - such as homemade bread, a pie, cookies. I don't think it is wise for me to bake any of these sweets right now...too tempting. I thought this time I would make him homemade hummus, or a loaf of red river cereal bread, or healthy banana oatmeal muffins.
