If you don't want to throw it away, maybe give some to friends or neighbors to get it out of the house. You can also freeze cake! But it's quite liberating to be able to throw something away. I have also put salt on food, lol!

I wouldn't throw it out, I would enjoy a small piece with my family then take it to work to share with them or yes, freeze it! :)

Recently I've put a couple good cakes in the trash when the party was over. I sure do understand not wanting to throw away a cake from your mom. So...good advice has already been given in order to not over-indulge and enjoy it over time, or share it. Glad you had a good birthday, hope today is good also!

That was perfect Jen, Thank You everyone for your suggestions. I will take your advice and give my mom some and my neighbor some as well. After all of that I don't think I will have much left. My mom tried to get me to freeze a portion of our wedding cake, and I just couldn't wrap my head around that either. I just can not say it enough, you all are so very special to me, and I am so grateful to have met you all and that your in my life.

Yes .. pace yourself and share with others. I have had to throw out a cake but I understand what you mean. I would find it difficult to throw out a cake from Dufflet's which is my all time favourite place to buy cakes. Your birthday is only once a year :)
