Nice. Do you still get that red sauce up there? They don't do it in Indian restaurants doon here. I miss it

Red sauce? 🤔 I'm not sure...this was everything we got. Mine was a lamb shank biryani baked in a pot covered in bread.

Sounds delicious. The sauce I'm talking about sometimes has onions in it and is usually served with pakora?

Good girl. When I go out with my sons they order everything on the menu. Luckily they have big appetites. Never made it to the dessert stage, ever! We don't get decent veggie pakora down here either. Only chicken pakora. If I fancy some I have to make my own. Glad you had a lovely time.

I know what you mean. I have the appetite of a man trapped in a petite female body🙈. You should come back up for some decent pakoras. You'd love this place...I'd say easily in the top 10 best Indian restaurants up here. Bring PiggyW with you.

I think it was also the oldest Indian restaurant in Scotland and got a special award from Scottish Parliament...the end of an era...sigh

No worries doll. Not a problem. Oh no, that's not nice. Don't think anyone would give me a hard time. I give as good as I get lol x

Brings back happy memories of my college days. All piled into a car to drive 150 mile round trip for a curry! Oh to be young again lol x

Sounds absolutely wonderful! I sometimes think we've lost something really important along the way, to all this modern technology.

I know, namely my dear old Dad who died last year aged 95. I miss him terribly. My brother is currently doing up Dad's house with a view to moving in there and selling his own so I'll need to come up at some point to sort out things. Was up in Glasgow about 5 years ago to meet a friend and we stayed at a typical B&B. I said I was looking forward to the Scottish breakfast in the morning. The landlord said 'oh there is no breakfast' my friend quipped about Glasgow humour. Sure enough next morning we went down and got a cup of tea and a slice of toast.Turns out the chef was off sick but he forgot to mention that. My friend went nuts and demanded her money back. Eventually we had breakfast at the big Wetherspoons at George Square. Hilarious!

Gilly, that strawberry sauce? my partner when has pakoras takes that sauce... I don't understand that ... I'm not fan of spicy food especially Asian cuisines. Any Indian take away has it... at least in Glasgow 🙂

Tan, I don't know what it's made from. It is a bit jam like I must admit. Everytime I go home I buy a little tub of it. I like the one with raw onions in it. Never seen it down here.

Gilly, I've never actually tasted it..I'm also not a fan of raw onions, but it does look a little like a jam😊. We don't have it back home, but so many 'Indian' dishes here are innovations. I grew up eating a lot of Singaporean/South East Asian food, so can't bear the Chinese food from takeaways here. Authentic Indian food is delicious Tan. Comes in all levels of spice, but very few restaurants do it well.

I am so sorry about your dad Gilly. Must be so hard to grieve through a pandemic. I remember you mentioning he was incredibly active and very tall🤗🤗🤗

Thanks Suma. I used to phone him every night and we always had discussions about the days news, politics etc.I often go to pick up the phone at night and the penny drops that he's not there now. We were lucky enough to give him a decent funeral before lockdown, high tea, bagpipes an all! I've put on so much weight this year too due to lots of things. He would be giving me grief on the phone if he was still here lol x
