Fledgist's Journal, 21 February 2011

Yesterday, I did some time at the gym and I hope I can today (though I have a meeting after work, which really messes things up). I need to keep the rhythm of exercise going.

We found a pair of slacks yesterday that hadn't gone to the Goodwill. I tried them on. I'm amazed at how much I've changed in the past year. I've got used to being able to pull on jeans without unbuttoning them if they are a couple of inches wider than my actual waist size. To see what it means to have dropped sixteen inches or more in waistline, that's something else. Yet I'm still 78 pounds, five and half stone, above my goal weight. I can't slack off yet.

Well you've done great... but do have some way to go. Keep in mind that the rewards for those last 78 lbs are even greater than what you experienced so far. That maybe by late fall... you will be where you want to be! You can't put a price on health... keep going my friend!

Fledgist, I think that you should take a pic in those pants and post it with the others that you have posted from before. It is great motivation when we can see our progress visually in a side by side. I sure hope you are feeling better. Have a wonderful week my friend.

Fantastic. I found that the change in the way things fit is, next to the scale, the single most tangable reinforcement to stay on track. I just bought a pair of summer pants because I had none. How nice to fit into a 33" waist! Fledgist, keep up the good work. Your progress provided me with a great deal of inspiration.

I'll have to remember to take a photo of myself in my large khakis sometime, Stef. Muskie, a 33" waist is something I can't even dream of right now! But I'll get there one day (I hope!). Right now my dreams are concentrated on getting into a 42" waist sometime next month. Come to think of it, next month is next week.
