flagmouse's Journal, 21 March 2009

Just finished day 3 of the 30 Day Shred. My body is screaming but it's worth it. I already feel a bit better. I'm surprised I have been able to get thru it tho. I have a sinus infection, sore throat and a cough that won't quit... but the way I see it is, if I can do it now it will be that much easier when I'm feeling better.

I'm really hoping that working out like this and getting my body in shape will help with my fibromyalgia pain. No meds have been working and the chiropractor isn't helping either. Went to the doctor yesterday and he told me I will just have to learn to live with the pain... as if I haven't been doing that for 8 years now. I asked him, AGAIN, to do an MRI on my spine to see if it is a disc that is causing all my back pain. He told me that even if it was, and I have surgery, there's no guarantee that it will be better. Why are some doctors such quacks???? Needless to say, I'm gonna be trying to find a new doctor!!

I'm sure that must be so frustrating for you - only advice I have is always continue to search for answers until YOU are satisfied that you have them... you are soooooo motivated to have all that, a cold and still be working out! I just got home, it's 9:00 and I have no desire to work out.... did my 15 min abs but putting off the shred.....

Is it Jillian Michael's 30 day shred? I was thinking about buying it. Do you like it?! :)

I think it's great! Only 20 minutes and it's a full workout!

I love it too. It's a short enough workout to fit into my day and it really pushes you. My body hurts but I love it. BTW... I wasn't always this motivated. Something, and I don't know what, has kicked me into gear the last week or so. I can't wait til the weather is warm and I can get outside too.

Tabithahulett...definitely worth the money. I do not think you will be disappointed. You can go to You Tube and watch the workouts before you buy the DVD if you would like. I am addicted. I work ups a sweat everytime I do the workouts. I started them February 4th. I just this past week started Level III. With this challenge I plan to rotate the Levels daily so I am not doing the same workout each time.

With the 30 day shred, just make sure you are doing it every other day. The name is a bit misleading, it makes it seem as if you are supposed to do it every day for 30 days. You still need to give your body a day rest to let your muscles rebuild themselves after ripping (which is what weight training does). On the off days, just do some cardio. Sorry if you already know this, but I was a little misled myself. Just trying to spread the knowledge. =0) Good luck!!
