There's a saying "You lose weight in the kitchen and get firm at the gym." The gym helps burn calories and build muscle, but you have to have the diet part down to lose weight. Make sure your diet is in place to help you lose. Tracking is important (like Ziva said). Drinking water! Get plenty of lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies. Watch your sodium intake. Make sure you eat the right amount of calories to help you lose.
