fighting the boredom. at work. waiting for the next crisis (that's my job) and trying to keep myself entertained. have read. have written. have been friendly. all to avoid the vending machine. i did purchase a bag of peanut M&M's. now i have to stay clear for the rest of the night. i spoke to my mother and she is feeling better about surgery on monday. no speaka to the sisters today. they are interacting with my arch enemy which is fine. i chose not to engage. my quote of the day "let go the things in which you are in doubt for the things in which there is no doubt" ~Mohammed. i will work on that maybe by making a list on what i focus on and catergorizing doubt and no doubt. i am trying to focus on food. do i doubt the food or no doubt the food damn it! i may have to go run some stairs. i even brought stuff to keep me busy. if i make it through my shift i have some healthy chicken and vegtables to eat. it is cold and snowy out. i am light headed. my neck has been stiff most of today. nothing painful. mildly uncomfortable. all for now. cross your fingers i don't completely lose it for another two hours!

Here's a tip for the next M&M slipup: make sure you have a tiny, cute dish at work,(don't worry about being affected; this works!). Mine is a little gilded old English porcelain dishy thinggy. Golden rule: never, ever eat a snack out of the packet. You have to put just some of your M&Ms into your little dish and eat them one by one. One by one. For another day, make sure you take pistachios and almonds and raisins in to work (just a snack's worth). Again, put them on your plate before you eat them. Eating out of a packet means you can't really see or really tell the quantity you're eating, even though you rationally know the weight from the packet. Another advantage of a tiny plate for snacks, is that you can make the tiniest of snacks a visual treat. For example, I just had 8 grams of amazing dark chocolate, it's a boutique brand that makes very thin chocolate squares. I actually broke that 8 grams into 8 tiny bits of intense dark chocolate, and cut quince paste into 8 tiny bits to go on the chocolate. Even though they are minute (less than a quarter of an inch square), the flavor is so intense, that eating them one by one was satisfying. And it was 50 calories. I'm afraid that is a bit of a sub-anorexic thing, making tiny, tiny helpings seem bigger in your head. But if you aren't an anorexic, it's a useful tip!
