mybigfat72's Journal, 03 January 2011

So I have a confession. When I first set up my account I had not weighed in - I based my weight on the last time I had weighed myself. Well on Sunday 1/2 I weighed myself in the morning and discovered that I weighed 235 not 230, I was devastated. So I started a pre-Atkins diet in an effort mostly to allow myself at least a day to get used to eating low carb before jumping into 20 Net carbs a day. So I log my food and ate 34 Net Carbs on Sunday. I woke up this morning with my stomach already feeling flatter! So I officially weighed in and took my measurements this morning to find I am already down 5 lbs. Yes I know its all water weight but that water makes your clothes feel tight when you are carrying it. Plus it just means I am that much closer to getting to burning fat instead of carbs. It also gives me hope that this is the answer I have been looking for! I can't wait to see the scale continue towards my goals.

1st mini-goal -> 220lbs

Well, everybody has to start somewhere! At least you are back to the number you thought you were starting with in the first place! Keep it going...and be cautious of the Atkins Bars (they have been known to stall out a lot of others...not everyone...but lots.) So should your losses slow down, which they will, or stall out...perhaps elimate those and see if it makes a difference. Good job!!! Keep on keeping on...

What a great start. Good for you. You can also go into your weight history and correct your start weight as well as change the start date for your diet. That way all the #'s will be accurate. There are some great challenges starting today as well that you might want to look into. They will be closing to new entries this evening.
