Janelleas's Journal, 23 December 2008

Happy thought of the day: YAHOO! Weighed myself this morning after forgetting and missing weigh in time the last few days and found that I am exactly the same weight as at the end of last week. No gain/No loss. Im really fine with that considering the parties, drinking and yes... a few desserts and appetizer's that are not diet friendly.

I am positive that one of the reasons I didn't gain in that I continue to fit in my exercise and make good choices as much as possible. I got up early this morning and walked on the treadmill for 60 minutes before breakfast or hubby waking up!! That's the NEW IMPROVED ME! I have planned ahead for parties and diet cheats by eating sensibly that day and by drinking a V8 juice right before leaving the house for dinner out or party foods. By Golly, I think I can win this battle! Im looking forward to the new year and I WILL reach my goal weight in 2009!

Snow and ice is everywhere. It has snowed a little each day and will continue to snow the rest of this week. The daily fresh snow keeps everything looking white and pretty. I love the new HUGE wreath we got for the front door this year. Hubby has been shoveling every day and doesn’t get red faced or hurt anymore ... seems so much easier for him now that he is healthier too.

Hubby and tried out our new waffle maker today that we bought at Costco. Christmas morning everyone will be making their own waffles for breakfast. I will have batter and toppings and all the goodies. There is a perfect measuring cup for the amount of batter to put into the waffle iron. It's so easy to use, like the ones at the hotels that have the make your own waffles... easy to do. It also keeps them out of my kitchen while I am doing stuffing, turkey and other dishes.

all in all I am happy with this holiday season, things are going well. We are in better health this year than we were last year by a long way... and we are going to just keep getting better.

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays

You are doing so good maintaining. I am doing the same by eating what I want on the weekends and holidays and working hard the rest of the time to keep it in balance. This is what I did when I was young and skinny too. Ate what I wanted Friday through Sunday and was strict with myself during the work week. It does work to maintain but not to lose which is why I continued to gain and could never lose before. Had to break that weekend habit....I was in short sleeves and sandles on Friday and Saturday, then coats on Sunday and Monday, warm again today through Christmas up down up down...

You are so right about the exercise. That is probably what has helped you to counter balance! Good girl! Good girl! You are also right about looking back over the past year to "see how far you have come" - instead of fretting about last week! Keep the up that great positive spirit! I love it!
