I've been thinking again...uhhohhh. I really want to eat better, exercise more...just be healthy. My whole life I have been in this cycle of gaining and losing...not just a little bit, but huge amounts in short periods of time. I just can't do it anymore!!!

The past few weeks I've been researching other options...apparently I have learned NOTHING in the past. I lose my weight then go back to bad habits and gain it all back plus more. I don't want to restrict myself from things I enjoy (I know replace food with other healthy stuff...yada yada yada) I love food...trying new cuisines from around the world or just having pizza at home. Eating is a very social activity for me and I am a social person....this past month has sucked...I've had ZERO social life. Now I'm prepared to make some changes in my eating habits, but not prepared to give it all up. For the most part the Paleo way of life will work for me...I don't mind giving up sugars and I can cater it to fit me (like having smalls amounts of dairy).

BUT.... I don't want to give up grains and lentils forever or all the time. On Thanksgiving I want stuffing, if I'm in France I want a croissant, and darn it I want real pizza crust sometimes. This being said...I don't want grains in my life all of the time and I don't need them. I eat enough high fiber veggies that I"m okay.

So I will finally get to my point...I"m going to eat mostly Paleo (high fat (good) and moderate protein, little to no carbs)...cut out most processed foods...come on now we all know those chemicals are not good for us. I hate cooking so I probably won't be making anything to fancy, but I can make a lot of healthier and yummier options. I"m also going to give myself a "FREE" OR "CHEAT" meal a week...I hate the word cheat because I feel like it will be part of my normal lifestyle so it isn't cheating. I"m learning that MODERATION is the key, so a couple of slices of Jet pizza one night a week isn't going to make me Fat.

So that is my modified lifestyle plan... I hope it works out for me I won't really get to try it out until Dec, but we shall see :)

That sounds like a good plan. I'm glad you are getting a handle on the past weight losses, and learning from your past. That is so important!! And yes, moderation is the key. I have a free day now, and it ends up sometimes being the weekend!! I was the same way, lose the weight, go back to the old way of eating, gain it all back plus 20 to 30 pounds more!!

Doesn't the rollercoaster suck? Can you imagine how bad it is for our bodies to gain/lose/gain/lose like we have in the past? I'm done, over, that's it. This is the last time I have to "diet" (HATE that word). I'm dedicated, motivated, and failure is not an option. I agree with you that I have to make eating healthy and exercising a habit, a privilege even, and not a chore. When I get to my desired weight, this is the last time, I'm staying there! :)

And it seems that I gain back much more than I lost and a lot quicker! I am tired of beating up my body/health. There has to be a better way.
