Hello,
I recently was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and realize that in order to not let that get worse I must change my lifestyle. I am a carb lover so this is a major shock and adjustment. I am looking for ways to develop habits I can live with for the rest of my life.

Hi Captain... just a word of encouragement. It can be done. I was a diabetic for 10yrs and was told, just last week, that I no longer require my insulin. I was type 2 but preferred to use insulin cause it controlled my sugar levels better. I am no longer using medication - i started decreasing my medication as i started loosing weight and changed my lifestyle. I'm a carb lover too but have broken that vicious cycle of stuffing my face with carbs.... I still have to watch what I eat carefully and am now on high protein, low carb eating - i try to keep my carbs under 20g a day - with weekends being the worst. took me 11 months to get to this point and I am ecstatic... i still have / want to loose another 20kg but i know that this decision has been the best thing I could have done for myself... Hang in there, u'll have good days and bad days, but never give... just pick urself up and try again...
