if the weight watchers scale is to be believed (is it?), i'm down half a percent of body fat... but up a bit of weight. so. i dunno about that. i've been going to zumba, pilates, yoga, and "project poolside" at thegymkc, usually some combo of 3 classes a week. i'm meeting with a personal trainer for the first time on saturday. i have no idea what to expect, and am a little terrified. i think he's going to push me to go a lot harder diet-wise, so we'll see how that goes.

It's entirely possible to down in fat and have the scale go up a little. Exercise can cause muscles to retain water to help them heal. This can show on the scale as a temporary gain, no loss or smaller loss than usual. It can take time for the scale to catch up. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight. You can two people who are the same height, same body type and same weight. One may be a size 4 and weigh 150 and the other may be a size 8 and weigh 140. Exercise can make all the difference. Muscle is lean and takes up less space, as opposed to fat which takes up more room.
