Good results peeper Jen friend! So hypothyroidism can actually cause weight gain and hyperthyroidism can cause a loss. It’s called a thyroid storm. Hypoglycemia can most definitely play a roll in the dizzy feeling you have been having with weight lifting. I know you’re not a breakfast eater friend, but maybe adjust that a bit with cereal, cereal bar, bacon, sausage. That is a low reading post a meal.💜💚

When I first started loosing and labs were getting good, RBC and hematocrit were high. But soon went down. May 2020 lab was great on all counts but low on D. Now taking it !

And I’m waiting for my thyroid levels to drop. As in January had one parathyroid and half my thyroid taken out. Still looking good. Duh

My hemoglobin and hematocrit are slightly elevated ( except during pregnancy 🤰, especially with my lil 👦🏻) lots of factors for that. Believe it or not, it can actually be a form of anemia called macrolytic anemia and also Thalassemia.

Hypothyroid is slow metabolism - people generally gain weight with that issue but it can cause appetite loss, too. Hyperthyroid is too fast and that is when people have unexplained weigt loss.

Long term low vit D is a silent bone mass density eliminator.

It’s in normal limits (37) for a normal person but my team wants to see me in the 70’s. When I take it I can get it up to like 50 sometimes. When they give me a script I can keep it at 70. It lowers in winter and my oncologist said I’d just have to find a way to go outside in the sun for a few hours every day and let bare skin absorb vitamin d. I’m cold natures so going out in the winter without warm pants and a heavy jacket isn’t gonna happen lol. I’m outside almost every day this summer, in a tank and most times shorts, and still only managed 37. Lactose intolerant so no fortified milk for me. I have osteopenia which is low bone density. Lifting weights has made me able to reverse it somewhat but not completely. Going to try vitamins again but I’m hoping for the once a week Vit D pill that always keeps it where they want it. So much easier and cheaper with my insurance.

Osteopenia ?! I remember about a year ago you had a scan and i was amazed by your exceptional bone mass density.

The body composition scan last summer showed my bone mass was decent. The medical dexa scan almoat 2 years ago showed I was like -1.0 and -1.9. The scan I had a month ago showed -0.9 and -1.4. Femur/Spine. So the spine has gotten better but the femur not so much. Probably because I focus on upper body work. I need to start doing more leg work. My dr said I could reverse the effects now, as I’m slowly doing, but maybe not totally get in the normal range. If I could keep my vitamin D and calcium up that would help. I tried a year just with weights and now I’m going to add in the vitamins. Even though the vitamins never did raise my counts much on labs when I was taking them a year ago. Except the script for weekly vitamin D. When on that the drs liked my numbers better.
