1st day of running class... COMPLETE! Here is the place that I'm taking the class at: www.runontexas.com

We just kind of went through the introductions of staff, syllabus, paperwork, and then ran the "magic mile". We ran (or run/walk) a mile at a comfortable pace to see which pace group we need to be put in. I ended up finishing my mile slightly slower than I wanted, but I didn't want to push it and get in over my head. I was aiming for a 12:00 mile and finished at about 12:35. Not too shabby for me since I haven't ran regularly for about 6 months. I finished right in about the middle of our 30 person class, so I'm not nearly as nervous about being completely outrun when the normal sessions start.

Now for the bad news... DOUBLE EPIC FAIL!!! Ugh... I couldn't complete week 5 of the 100 push ups challenge for the 2nd week in a row. I will be stuck in week 5 limbo for eternity! Oh well, even if it takes me a year, I WILL FINISH WEEK 5!

randomnesses... crazy lyrical edition
randomness1)
And the man in the back said everyone attack
And it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said, boy I want to warn you
it'll turn into a ballroom blitz

randomness2)
And I would do anything for love, oh I would do anything for love
Oh I would do anything for love, but I won't do that, no I won't do that

randomness3)
When I was a little bitty boy
My Grandmother bought me a cute little toy
Silver bells hanging on a string
She said it was my ding a ling a ling

randomness4)
Yo! It's about that time
To bring forth the rhythm and the rhyme
I'm a get mine, so get yours
I wanna see sweat comin' out your pores
On the house tip is how I'm swingin' this
Strictly Hip-Hop boy, I ain't singin' this
Bringing this to the entire nation
Black, white, red, brown
Feel the vibration

randomness5)
Yeah, everybody let's move
Vanilla is here with the new Jack Groove
Gonna rock, and roll this place
With the power of the ninja turtle bass
Iceman, ya know I'm not playin'
Devastate the show while the turtles are sayin'
Ninja, Ninja, RAP! Ninja, Ninja, RAP!
Go Ninja, Go Ninja GO!

LOL Super mega bonus points for anyone that actually knows these songs (especially the last one).

You did NOT post lyrics to Ninja Rap! You are a child of the 80's, no doubt about it. I thought we were going to be music best friends with our mutual like of Blue Oyster Cult, but I can not get down with Marky Mark. But the Meatloaf does redeem you. It's such a back and forth!

That is great news about your running class! Sounds like you are a lot better than you thought - what a nice thing to find out, eh? The part about the syllabus scared me though...

Haha... we even had "homework" to do from the first day... mostly just questionnaires about what our goals are, etc.

That is beginning to sound suspiciously like school...as a teacher I know about these things...

I DVR'd Saturday Night Live from last week, and they had this hilarious sketch called "Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals". It was just Andy Samberg going up to different animals like a dog, a chicken, and a goat and saying hi to them and talking about his movies. It was so dead on, it was hilarious. YouTube it if you haven't seen it.
