I have had the best luck by keeping it simple. I limit my daily calories and can eat whatever I want as long as it’s under my calorie limit. I have found some really great substitutions for high cal things I like so I really haven’t felt like I go without. One day per week I allow myself a higher calorie amount to keep my metabolism cranking.

Some of my substitutions: Rice === riced cauliflower Regular bread === Nature’s Own Life Bread (40 cal per slice) Pasta=== Pasta Zero Soda===Seltzer Pizza===Cauliflower Pizza (Caulipower is in the freezer section at most stores) Coffee Creamer=Almond Breeze creamer (only 30 cal) Milk=Unsweetened almond milk Salad Dressing===Skinny Girl Ranch or Balsamic (10 cal) I eat a lot of whitefish, shrimp, and chicken and use Mrs Dash seasonings

Deficit with your calories works. Amp it up by paying attention to macros. Exercise routine helps burn calories and helps tone. Persistence pays off. Even if you get discouraged, keep at it. Some weeks you won't lose. A body will work at its own pace.

I am in a slump myself. I am going to make myself weigh myself and also enter what I eat immediately. That is how I found success before. Best of luck to you.

Log all of your calories. That's a start.

cut down to eating only 1/2 to 3/4 of your usual. That is what I need to do also.

Mary, I struggled for a long time, I was obese and ran marathons, half marathons and 100 mile bike rides but struggled with losing weight. My cholesterols were also way out of control for years. I lost 70 lbs now by not exercising as much but by decreasing carbs. I wasn't Keto but I cut out the carbs and increased the fat intake. Its not about calories in vs calories out, its all about less carbs and more fat. 65% of my food intake is fat. A low fat diet is not healthy. Let me know if you want more info.

1.) Exercise is king no matter what. If you can exercise, then do it. Exercise can be something simple like a Youtube video. Just plan on exercising around the same time for the same amount of time each day. 2.) Never skip meals and always try to eat your meals at the same time everyday. This will prevent being hungry. 3.) Find a diet that's right for you. One that you can stick to, the meals are easy for you to make, and actually works for your body. There really is no set diet that works for everyone. For some people low-carb works and for others, low-fat works. (low-carb is not "no carb" and low-fat is not "no fat") Some people just do a plain starch free diet and some do raw diets. There really is no one size fits all. For exercise videos.....I like "Live, Love, Party," "Kick-Butt Kickboxing," and "Fit for Duty."
